General Ratio for Dips
1 cup sour cream
2 Tbsp spice blend or seasoning
In a bowl, combine ingredients and mix well. Cover and refrigerate at least 15 minutes (flavors will heighten the longer the spices/seasonings have to "bloom"). Stir and taste; adjust with more seasoning or sour cream to achieve desired flavor.
Wanting a thicker dip? Substitute half the sour cream portion with whipped cream cheese or Greek yogurt.
General Ratio for Dressings
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
1/3 cup buttermilk or milk
2 Tbsp spice blend or seasoning
In a bowl, combine ingredients and mix well. Cover and refrigerate; chill 30 minutes to thicken. Stir before serving. Adjust consistency with more buttermilk or milk, as needed.
