Master Chowder Recipe
A spike of savory spices, enticing color & flavor, and seasoned oyster crackers or garlic bread add a TSTE®Ã‚Â® twist to this classic comfort food. Three beautiful chowder varieties can be made with our TSTE®Ã‚Â® MarinerÃ¢Â€Â™s Chowder Seasoning; great for enhancing any chowder style across the country!
½ tsp. Worcestershire Powder
1 cup celery, chopped
2 cups clams (fresh or canned), chopped
2 cups clam juice (should be enough in with the clams)
2 cups chicken broth/stock
3 slices cooked thick-cut bacon, chopped
2 cups Yukon gold potatoes, diced
Add Worcestershire Powder and the remainder of the ingredients. Cook on high until soup begins to boil.
SIMMER about 30 mins. or until the potatoes are tender.
SERVE sprinkled with a little more Mariner's Chowder Seasoning, Mariner's Oyster Crackers Recipe, or a side of Garden Garlic Bread Recipe.
*For a Creamier Soup: substitute 1½ cup of heavy cream and ¼ cup flour (for 1 cup of chicken broth/stock).
*For a Tomato-Based Soup: substitute 1 cup of tomato juice and 1 cup of crushed tomatoes (for 1 cup of the clam juice and 1 cup of chicken broth).
