Marjoram is a close cousin of oregano, but yields a softer, sweeter, and slightly minty taste. Common to Mediterranean and Middle Eastern foods, marjoram is grown domestically and imported mostly from Egypt. Popular in many Italian dishes; use marjoram's fresh flavor to enhance salad dressings, seafood, sauces, soups, and poultry.

Spice Fun Fact: A cold-sensitive perennial herb that cannot survive in northern climates, marjoram is grown for its aromatic leaves that yield sweet pine and citrus flavors.
