Great for any cut of steak or chops, this marinade will produce a tender, melt-in-your-mouth cut of meat. Butcher’s Rub and Ultimate Umami Seasoning add deep, savory flavor perfect for summer grilling.

Ingredients

From The Spice & Tea Exchange®
1 TBS Butcher’s Rub Spice Blend
2 tsp Ultimate Umami Seasoning
2 tsp Vik’s Garlic Fix Spice Blend

From the Grocer
1/3 cup canola or vegetable oil
2/3 cup soy sauce
2 TBS packed dark brown sugar
2 TBS chopped fresh chives
4-6 individual steaks or chops
1 TBS balsamic vinegar

Preparation

WHISK together Butcher’s Rub Spice Blend, Ultimate Umami Seasoning, Vik’s Garlic Fix Spice Blend, oil, soy sauce, sugar, and chives in a small bowl.
RESERVE ¼ cup of liquid, and pour the rest of the marinade into a large zipper top plastic bag, along with the steaks or chops. Seal bag and place in refrigerator 30 mins to 1 hr.
WHISK vinegar into reserved ¼ cup liquid, set aside.
PREHEAT grill or broiler.
GRILL or broil steaks or chops as desired.
TRANSFER grilled steaks or chops to a shallow pan.
POUR reserved liquid over top. Cover loosely with aluminum foil, and let rest 10 min, turning steaks over halfway through. Slice and serve.
