Golden Milk Latte
Rich with turmeric, Golden Milk is a traditional Indian beverage also known as Haldi Doodh and can be thought of as an anti-inflammatory latte. A warm and comforting cup, Golden Milk is the perfect feel-good beverage as the curcumin in turmeric lowers the levels of certain enzymes known to cause inflammation.
2 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp Good as Gold Spice Blend
8 oz milk
Combine honey and spice blend until mixed thoroughly; set aside. Gently heat milk. Add half of heated milk to honey-spice blend; stir or aerate with a handheld frother until combined. Add remaining heated milk and froth again.
Why combine the honey and spices ahead of time? The honey behaves like glue, in a way. The spices become suspended in the honey, which helps minimize grittiness when incorporated with the milk. The longer they hang out together, the better.
Fan of golden milk? Prepare larger quantities of the honey-spice blend in advance. Mix the contents of a 1-ounce bag of Good as Gold with 6 ounces of honey in a resealable glass jar. Store at room temperature. Use 2 tablespoons per 8 ounces milk whenever the mood strikes – or add to smoothies, yogurt and ice cream!
