Prep Time

Meet Oreo’s more sophisticated cousin. Matcha’s savory notes with lively umami sweetness is perfect with a cream cheese-based filling and paired with rich chocolate wafers. For best storage, keep these frozen in an airtight container. Simply thaw at room temperature for 5 to 10 minutes before serving or eat straight away like a miniature ice cream sandwich!
Ingredients
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 4 Tbsp butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
-
½ tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
-
1 Tbsp Matcha
- 9 oz chocolate wafer cookies (1 sleeve)
Directions
- Beat together butter and cream cheese until blended. Sift in powdered sugar and matcha; continue beating until smooth and creamy. Transfer to a pastry bag fitted with a plain tip. (A zip-top bag can work in a pinch; cut tip from one corner and use like a piping bag.)
- Pipe filling on the flat side of wafer in an even layer about 2-inches across and ¾-inch thick. Top with another wafer, flat side down. Gently press the center of the wafer to distribute to the edge.
