Chai Apple Streusel Cake (Kit)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8-inch springform pan with butter or cooking spray and dust with flour; set aside.
- Prepare Streusel Topping. Mix sugars, spice blend, and salt in a medium bowl. Stir in melted butter. Using a fork, gently mix in flour until crumbles form; do not overmix. Set aside.
- Prepare Cake Batter. In a medium bowl, stir flour, baking soda, baking powder, and kosher salt until combined; set aside. In a clean medium bowl, beat butter and Chai Sugar on high speed until smooth and creamy. Scrape down sides of bowl as needed, then add egg, sour cream, and vanilla extract; beat on medium-high speed until combined. On low speed, mix in dry ingredients in two stages until just incorporated; do not overmix. Toss diced apples with spice blend.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Top evenly with spiced apples, then crumble the streusel topping over the apples. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until a skewer inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. Remove from oven and place on a wire rack to cool for 30 to 45 minutes before slicing.
