Catalina dressing is a sweet, tangy, and slightly savory dressing with a vibrant red color and smooth texture. It delivers a balanced flavor that combines mild sweetness with bright acidity. Its bold taste makes it a great choice for hearty salads and dishes that benefit from a sweet-and-tangy kick.
Ingredients
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- ¼ cup red wine vinegar
- ¼ cup ketchup

4 tsp Honey - Granulated

1 tsp Dijon mustard

1 tsp Paprika - Spanish Sweet

½ tsp Light Chili Powder

½ tsp Onion - Minced

1/8 tsp Garlic - Minced
- 1/8 tsp each kosher salt & black pepper, to taste

Directions
- Add Liquid Ingredients. Add vegetable oil and red wine vinegar using the jar’s measurement markings as a guide.
- Add Remaining Ingredients. Add ketchup, Honey - Granulated, Dijon mustard, Paprika – Spanish Sweet, Light Chili Powder, Onion – Minced, Garlic – Minced, kosher salt, and black pepper.
- Secure Lid & Shake. Secure jar using the Sealing Lid; shake vigorously for 20 to 25 seconds to emulsify.
- For best results, prepare dressing one day before serving and refrigerate to allow spices to rehydrate and flavors to meld.
Serve. Just before serving, shake to re-emulsify. Taste and adjust seasonings, if needed. Secure jar with Spouted Lid for easy pouring. To store any leftovers, replace Spouted Lid with Sealing Lid and refrigerate.
Recipe Note
Catalina Dressing pairs well with these ingredients: iceberg or romaine lettuce, shredded cabbage, cherry tomato, cucumber, shredded carrot, red onion, grilled chicken, ham or turkey, hard-boiled egg, chickpeas, croutons.
