Everyone loves a good BLT! This salad combines colorful fresh ingredients, caramelized bacon, and cheese with a traditional, tasty, and easy-to-make buttermilk dressing.
Caramelized Bacon Chopped Salad

Ingredients

  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup buttermilk
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. Vik's Garlic Fix!
  • ¼ tsp. Alderwood Smoked Sea Salt
  • 1 lb bacon
  • Tuscany Spice Blend (to taste)
  • Vanilla Turbinado Sugar (to taste)
  • 1 head romaine lettuce
  • 1 pkg cherry tomatoes
  • 1 cup finely shredded cheddar cheese

Directions

  1. WHISK together sour cream, buttermilk, chives, Vik's Garlic Fix, and Alderwood Smoked Sea Salt. Refrigerate.
  2. SPREAD bacon slices on a cookie sheet and sprinkle with Tuscany Spice Blend and Vanilla Turbinado Sugar. Place pan of bacon in a cold oven. Set temperature to 400°F and bake for 15-20 mins. or until crispy. Set bacon on paper towels to absorb excess grease. Once cooled, chop or crumble into small pieces and set aside.
  3. REFRIGERATE lettuce, tomatoes, cheese in a salad bowl until chilled.
  4. ASSEMBLE salad by tossing lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and bacon with dressing to taste.
