Ingredients

  • ¼ cup Carrots - Diced
  • ½ cup water at 200ºF
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 large ripe banana, mashed
  • 1 Tbsp Parsley
  • 1 Tbsp Ginger - Ground
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325ºF. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper; set aside.
  2. In a small bowl combine carrots and hot water to rehydrate; set aside for 10 minutes.
  3. Mix Dough. Add the rehydrated carrots (with any residual liquid) and the remaining ingredients to a large mixing bowl. Using a hand mixer, fork, or your hands, combine until fully incorporated. If necessary, add just enough water to achieve a consistency where the dough holds its shape without being crumbly or sticky.
  4. Roll & Cut Dough. Dust the work surface with flour* and roll dough to approximately ¼-inch thick. Cut out desired shapes using a cookie cutter, pizza cutter, or knife. Arrange pieces evenly on the parchment-lined baking sheets. Bake for 30 minutes; turn oven off and leave treats to cool in the oven overnight.

    Yields: 28 to 30 (3-inch) bones. Recipe can be easily scaled for larger quantities.
