The traditional mule was a bit of a happy accident, born in a bar. The riff we developed on it was absolutely on purpose. Why? The vibrant blend of tart cranberry with subtle spiciness of ginger beer is an effervescent delight.

Ingredients
Cranberry Apple Tart Simple Syrup
-
2
Tbsp Cranberry Apple Tart Herbal Tea
- 4 oz water at 200°F
-
½ cup Cranberry Orange Sugar
Cocktail
- 2 oz vodka
- 3/4 oz cranberry apple tart simple syrup
-
½ oz fresh lemon juice
- 4 to 5 oz ginger beer or ginger ale

Directions
Prepare Simple Syrup.
- Combine tea and hot water; steep for 10 minutes.
Strain infusion into a small saucepan; discard tea. Add sugar and heat over medium-low; stir occasionally until sugar has fully dissolved. Set aside to cool.

Assemble Cocktail.
- Add vodka, simple syrup, and lemon juice to a mule mug filled with ice. Stir.
- Top with ginger beer or ginger ale.
- Garnish with cinnamon stick, sliced citrus, and/or fresh cranberries.
