The taste of shallots is similar to onion and garlic. This freeze-dried version is light, but very rich in flavor with the slightest bit of heat. One of the smallest varieties of the onion family, shallots have a pear-shaped bulb that's made of two to three cloves. The subtle yet distinct flavor is great for flavoring stews, soups, vinaigrettes, and sauces.
