Lavender

Grown throughout Europe and North America, lavender is known for its beautiful color and perfume-like aroma and flavor. An integral part of the cuisine of southern France, it can be rubbed directly on meats such as lamb and pork, or added to vegetables and casseroles. This fragrant flower can be used to flavor jellies and baked goods. It is also widely known for its use in Herbes de Provence.
