Widely used in Greek cuisine, Feta cheese is traditionally made from goat and/or sheep's milk. It is commonly used in salads, pastries, and baked with meats. It can be used as a table-cheese, and as a main ingredient in the popular Greek phyllo-dough based dishes spanakopita ("spinach pie") and tyro pita ("cheese pie"). When fresh cheese is not convenient or available, this powder works well in dry-mix dressings, mixed with hummus, sprinkled onto warm pita bread, and other similar uses.
